CPG add Caterpillar to its list of Products
CPG have just placed an order for a Caterpillar C175 2.4MW high speed diesel genset... more
CPM were awarded the contract to design, build, install and operate a new nine megawatt power station located at the Central Norseman Gold mine site, in the town of Norseman Western Australia.
The interesting point about this project was the integration with the existing equipment, some of which was over 50 years old.
The power station was shipped to the site in October 1998 and on line and commissioned by the 23rd of November 1998. The changeover was seamless.
Once we had control of the operation from a power perspective, we commenced the decommissioning of the old plant.
CPM in conjunction with AES developed a fully automated control system which allowed a PLC based program to start and stop sets as the in field load required. This load management system allowed us to maintain a fuel efficiency well within contract requirements, in fact the fuel usage has not varied more than 1% +/- since the original start up date.
As a result CPG can guarantee fuel usage on any of its installations. (a figure our clients know will be as good if not better than our published data at the commencement of any contract)
North Mara has a similar configuration to the Norseman Design with only minor component changes.
CPM's Central Norseman Power Station is testimony to this companies ability to produce a quality product. This power station has now been in service for 10 years and has performed well beyond expectations, in both reliability and durability. The down time on the site speaks for itself. Availability for this site since 1998 is an impressive 99.997%.
